Chestnut St Fire August 15th 2009

Getting back into Holyoke very light after a photographic adventure, we caught the scent of a fire in the air. “Take a right onto Cabot” I said as we made our way down Dwight. 1.345 minutes later, we arrived on the scene of a freshly engulfed house/office building. We grabbed our cameras, other gear, (lenses and memory cards) and headed over to the scene. The images that follow will captivate you and engage you with the actions that took place during the course of a few hours of witnessing the building burn up.

Nothing was going to stop us from making these photographs. We found places other media/news networks were not located. Including climbing onto the roof top of a garage to obtain some of these photographs. We made photographs from this location, images that people other wise wouldnt see.

These photographs are un-edited and un-retouched. There are more to come. Copy Right Jeffrey Byrnes and Lenshare.com

  1. Love the fire truck shots. I goofed by not having my tripod with me from the start.

  2. At one point I stoped using it, cranked the ISO so high and shot hand held. I always try and make it a point to have it with me or near me at all times. Thank you!
